Hi!
I'm having a problem with a Win2kSP4 server. Basically the network adapter will not accept an IP address. I go into the settings, input an IP, gateway and DNS server. After clicking OK all the way back out the settings are gone when I go back in. The same thing happens if I use netsh to change the settings ('netsh interface ip set address local static <ip> <mask> <gw> <metric>', then 'netsh interface ip show config' shows DHCP enabled and no IP addresses)
Here's the wierd part: if I do an ipconfig/all, all of my settings that I setup are there. I can ping and operate on the network semi-normally. However, it doesn't register my IP in DNS, and since this is a DC, that causes problems.
Any suggestions (other than re-installing?)
Thanks!
