When backing up compressed files for Netware SMS should one back them up decompressed?

Erv

No this is not recommended. Explanation below.

Click this to decompress, or expand, compressed files as they are backed up. If you select this option, the server may run out of memory or disk space. Also, the backup job will take longer due to the extra time involved in file decompression. In most cases, this option should not be selected.

Thanks, I have been backing up compressed files and wanted to ensure I did not overlook anything.

you would only ever need to do this - if you were restoring files to a volume that is uncompressed (this is the default on nss volumes)
