I am trying to backup a Netware Client using NetWorker 5.5.2. I can perform a client-side backup successfully but when I try to perform a server-side backup it gives me the following error:

** RPC error, Name to address translation failure

The autoexec.ncf is set up the same way as another Netware client that is backing up successfully already.

The host file on the client and server seem to be okay.

Any ideas?

I'm having the same exact problem. Did you ever get this resolved?

I never got a definite answer. Some of the things I tried on a number of different occassions include

** unloading and loading all the nlms.
** Verify that the user to be used in the remote user field has full admin rights
** Reboot the server
** move up the entry for the Networker "Networkr" and move this immediately after the tsa*.nlm entries, so that
it will look like the following in the file. [SYS:SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.NCF]:
** Try a client side manual backup

I know this is all very wishy washy but thse are some of the things I tried and worked but never consistently.

I have had the same problem after creating a new client
some weeks ago. Check the following steps :

** Edit the client ressource in NWAdmin
** select the Preferences TAB
** check the names for the client in the Aliases-field !

After I have entered the real client name <clientname> and also the DNS-Name <clientname.domain.xx> it worked fine.

I have tried this also. These backups were working for me previously. Once I did a restore the backups started failing.
