I installed nw6sp4e (downloaded from the novell website) on two servers, which were at the sp3. After the install, I manually down the servers, at the c:\nwserver prompt type in server. As the servers came up, I noticed it still showed version 3. Also, when I typed in version at the system console, it still shows revision 3 March 27, 2003.

I tried a second install on both servers with the same results.

I am in process of comparing files from the backup4, they seemed to have been updated.

Any ideas as to why? -it is not showing revision 4 - December 12, 2003 - I do have a third server in the tree but this one was installed to the tree with service pack 4 already on it.

The servers are up and running. Although one server (secondary) has an issue with Apache (see TID10070605), and one server (master) had corrupt broker, which I replaced the psm files for ndpsm and that seemed to fix it.

Do I need to backed the server to service pack 3 and try the install again?

thanks

jane

It really sounds like the service pack didn't get installed at all. Or the SERVER.EXE didn't get replaced.

To install it, you extracted it to a volume on your server, ran NWCONFIG, Product options, Install Product...?

Or maybe your virus software prevented it from installing. Disable that before you install.

You shouldn't have to backrev, just reinstall SP4. Why not SP5?

Thanks for reply...I did find out it was because I extracted the file on a workstation with McAfee running. The server.exe file was kept from the extraction.

I have one server at nw6sp4, my thoughts were to get them all on the same level before I have to upgrade to netware 6.5.

I believe netware 6.0 ends in September.

thanks again,

jane

There are still people running Netware 4x. If 6x is doing what you need it to do, why torture yourself?

My daddy always told me "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
