Hi,

I am presently upgrading my Netware 4.1 clients with networker 4.13 to Netware 5.1 with the latest Novell patches. Some of my servers are abending and its the RCMDSRV.NLM that is causing it. I have some Netware 5.1 servers that work fine but others keep abending. I have searched Novell's web site as well as Legato's got no cigar!

HELP!!!

Yvette

Our Netware 5.1 servers are backed up by Nt 4 servers running 5.51 Networker. The Networker client is loaded on the netware server but ours is version 4.15 not 4.13 like you are using. This seems to work fine. We also have some Netware servers running the client and server of Networker these also are 4.15 they have a few problems like abending now a again but are usually fairly stable.

I experienced the same same server ABEND's with NetWare 5.1 clients. I received an updated NLM from Jason Harding at Legato. I havn't had enough time to evaluate the fix, but at least I have some hope.

I would strongly recommend upgrading the Networker client to 4.15 on your NetWare servers. We used to have 4.13 and we experienced occasional abends and/or high utilization... and both always pointed to RCMDSRV.NLM! I've been running 4.15 on my NetWare servers for about 6 months now and I have not seen those problems since!! Also, if you ever have to unload the Networker NLMs, 4.13 didn't always release the threads so you would have to restart. 4.15 unloads every single time!

Hallo Yahoo2,

please could you, or someone else, send me the patch.

I use the client 4.15 on my Netware 5.0 Servers (SP6a) and have
Abends in rcmdsrv.nlm. Novell says, that it's a Problem of
Legato, not a NetWare-Problem.

Thanks.
