This is a general question. Can anyone help with a general guide to trouble shooting a server taht is suffering from high utilization. Which parts of monitor to check etc. I have seen the TID from Novell but I really need a simpler document.

Thanks in advance

Go to MONITOR - KERNEL - THREADS It will show you waht thread is causing the high utilization.

Also; 1. check how large your purgable files are on your volumes 2. Check SYSTEM RESOURCES in MONITOR, look at the value for Cache Buffer Memory, in bytes: If this number is below 20% get ram fast, if it is below 60% get am on order, if it's over 70% your good. 3. There was supposed to be another suggestion here, but I got side tracked writing this and forgot what it was for now.

Thanks Brent.

Looks like I'll need to get some RAM ordered.

Cheers.
