I need to up date a novell server 4.11 small buisness to
a new computer?

any sugestions please..

anyone have ghost for novell
 
Best package to use would be ServerMagic (the equivalent of Partition Magic)

Don't forget to change your drivers after doing this so the server boots up with the relevant SCSI/LAN (etc) drivers for the new server -----------------------------------------------------

Depends on your new hardware. For example, your old server may run a totally different SCSI card to the new server hence the SCSI drivers would not load. Same with the network card.

What is your new hardware? This may help us answer more! -----------------------------------------------------

I just did this last week-end. Install NetWare on the new server using a new name and tree.Remember to load the latest patches...... Well look just go to Nick Payne's NetWare Utilities site:


and print out "NetWare server swap procedure", download the utilities and away you go!

TRUSTNDS takes care of the file system trustee rights and the inherited rights masks.
NWCOPY copies the files with their attributes.
DSMAINT looks after NDS
