I'm running netware 4.11 with SP9 installed and my work station is a win95 using client 3.31. The system has been working fine for over a year without any problems. Then all of a sudden it started corrupting data. So I updated the client which was 2.2 to 3.31 but no help. It only does this sometimes. I swear it has a mind of its own. When I do certin functions the database files get corrupted sometimes. Most all the functions work OK. It seems when copying and reindexing large files it corrupts the data file. I disabled the turbo fat and it made no difference. So I totally erased the server and reloaded it from the original disks, replaced the memory and it is still the same. Any more ideas?

To make sure where it's happening, move (copy) the Db file(s) to another server or locally and work with the copies. See if it continues. Try on another workstation as well.

Cheers,

Mark ;-)

What type of database is it, what product does it use, and what size is it? It's not the old "over 2gb" thing is it? -----------------------------------------------------

I have moved the files to my work station and just worked off that and it works OK.
I'm running Foxpro so the files are .DBF files and they are on the average 7 to 25 meg long so they are large files.
The crazy thing is that if I run the utility program one line at a time it works fine, but just let the program run and it chops off files. This program has been working for years with no problem. I think I'm just missing what has changed recently, but I can't figure it out yet.

Have you tried adding little pauses into your code? If you run it manually and it is ok, it may require a delay somewhere. -----------------------------------------------------

I have put pauses in my code to find out where the problem is. If I use the windows 'copy' command it works fine. If I use the 'Copy to' command in Foxpro it doesn't copy the entire file. Like 2 meg short on a 7 meg file.
