Since I upgraded to Netscape 4.7, whenever I shut Netscape down, the program looks like it exits fine, but if I do Crtl+Alt+Del, Netscape is still running in the background. If I go to shut down Windows 98, Win 98 hangs on shutdown and I have to do Crtl + Alt + Del to end the Netscape program still running in the background. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Netscape (since banding together with AOL) now installs additional
components along with Communicator, such as AOL Instant Messenger.
Try to locate where these other activities are getting loaded, then delete
them.
David J. Aller
GoTech@GoTechnologiesInc.com
<a href= Computer Systems & Networking Services
I found myself having the same problem...if I let the system sit for a bit, the program would close with an "end task"...I was running 4.7 as well (and still am). however, I reloaded my system and the app as well and have had no further problems. Something I had thought about trying was uninstalling Netscape and then re-installing it...better yet, uninstall it and install 4.72....I think my problem popped up after downloading "stuff" still not sure though...
