Click on the icon for Netscape, but won't open. Seem like it's missing some type of file. What are some of possibilities?

What happens? Did this just start? Did it ever work? More info please...

Matt J.

I was having problems with a DVD Copy software and was told to take some files off my computer. Was working before I did this. I believe I took a file off that opens up Netscape. It's also effecting other icons on my desktop.

I tried that about 5 times still doesn't work.

You still didn't answer my first question... What happens? And you say its affecting other icons? Please elaborate...

Matt J.

Okay, when I click on Netscape icon, nothing comes up. If I click on IE, Yahoo IM it comes up.

Have you uninstalled, then gone to delete the Netscape directory in program files to delete what's left over after the uninstall? c:\program files\netscape.

Do this next. Then reinstall. You might copy the netscape folder elsewhere first, so you copy any e-mails and favorites you have. Let me know what version you are running.

Matt J.

Can you run Netscape from the program file instead of the shortcut? Maybe it's just the shorcuts/icons that are messed up.

That's what I was going to suggest. Check the properties on the shortcut and make sure it looks ok. Try running the exe straight up and re-create the shortcut.

You could also try running it under a different profile... Maybe your profile is hosed.
