Netscape 7 and Behaviors

I have created a site with behaviors for jump menus and rollovers which works just fine in IE and all versions of Netscape except 7.0. These functions are just ignored. What's happening? Are there additional behaviors I need to download into MX? I chose the behaviors that appeared when "Show Events for 4.0 and Later Browsers", but I tried behaviors for all different browsers and no luck.

I recently designed a page with behaviours and I never checked it with Netscape 7 until now. The pop up menu works, even though the mouse pointer changes into a straight line, when the link that pops up is clicked, the page loads. To my horror: Netscape 7 does not interpret my layer with Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association, it comes down and covers the text.......

Anyway, I looked at your page in both Netscape7 and MSIE. Cannot find the pop up menu. You don't mean the drop down menu for the artists ? It works in both.

Yes, I did mean the drop down menus in Artists and Galleries...I have Java enabled in the browser...I wonder why my Netscape 7 doesn't work. It displays the drop down menus...just doesn't go the artist pages when you select an artist or go to an anchor on the gallery page. It must be a problem locally.

Hi Marta

I went to check on the dropdown in Netscape 7.01 and I clicked on the two top artists to test and it worked, the pages came up. I recently upgraded to Netscape 7.01. Maybe 7.0 had that bug ? Which version do you have ? I found 7.0 annoyed me, it came on every time I started the computer and it took 32 seconds each time to disappear ( the intro page of Netscape 7.0). Now, with 7.01 I don't get that again.
Thanks to you I checked my golf page in Netscape and I had to make a banner instead of having the writing and the small gif in a layer. Netscape cannot translate those !!!1

Well, I upgraded to 7.02 and it's still not recognizing my rollovers (the buttons) and won't load pages chosen with the drop down menus in Artists and Galleries.

I'm using a Mac...you must be using a PC? Maybe these bugs haven't been fixed in the Mac version?

Marta,

I did not receive a notice that you posted. Anyway, I just checked again and I can select the artists and their page opens from the drop down menu. And yes, I use a PC.
I had to design a banner for my golf page and put all the elements in, because Netscape made the layer come down about 3 inches and the writing was covering other text. But there is something in DW one has to enable when using layers for Netscape to interpret properly. They are aware that Netscape does not read layers properly when it resizes the window. My advice to you is : find another MAC user who has Netscape 7.02 and then ask them to load your page and see if they can get the artists' pages to load from the dropdown menu. Then you will know if it is in your computer ( your Netscape ) or if it is universal.

Will do. Think I'll order Netscape 7.02 on CD (maybe the download screwed up) and test it on a different Mac so it will be a few days.

Problem solved. It works fine in a fresh copy of Netscape 7.0 on a Mac so I must have had a corrupt application.
