Netscape 7.1 Attachments

This is crazy! Open an email with either a jpg attachment or a jpg inserted picture and they all show up as an attachment. Fine, but when I go to open the attachment, it says that it's a .doc file.

Looking in the download folder I see the file as abcd.jpg.doc.
It is a jpg file but somehow it's being appended with the doc extender and opening it opens Word.

I have uninstalled 7.1 and reinstalled it with no help.

Any suggestions???

I have a similar problem, only vice-versa... incoming messages with Word, Excel, Publisher, or PowerPoint attachments (.doc, .xls, .pub, *.ppt) get appended with .jpg (eg. abcd.doc.jpg). Also Netscape 7.1. Very strange indeed. Any ideas??

Same happens to me. Difference: All files become .gif-files.
