Hi all

Ive recently installed a wireless router and the software on my laptop!

The hardware spec is a Netgear 54 mbps wireless pc card, 32 bit cardbus WG511.

All is working well and I can access the internet, however when I hibernate or turn my laptop off and a few hours later turn it back on I no longer can connect to the internet!!

I can only connect back to the internet by going into the Netgear configuration settings (site survey) and re-scanning????

The problem is when ever i turn my machine back ON after a soft reboot / back from hibernations.

Drivers work ok i assume as once i have clicked on site survey the link to the router is brought back up.

Its like i lose the link everytime i restart and HAVE TO click on site survey to re-conect.

Has anyone experienced similar problems??

Any ideas??

Jim

Are you running WEP? It seems as though when you hibernate, you need to reassociate your keys and when you go to the site survey tool, you keys are reassociated. Maybe a setting is off?

Hi Jim,

This happens to my connection also. I'm not sure of the true fix but I just disable and enable the card and I'm back in business. By the way mine is the same with WEP on or off.

Hi Larry

Surely this should not be the case!!?? (I have my WEP off also!!)

If u find a solution to your problem then let us know!

Thanks for the response!
