Hi,
I'm trying to test the VPN functionality of the NetGear Routers FVS318 without connecting them to the Internet. I'm using a crossover cable between the two Routers as follow:
|------ LAN A ----------| |------- LAN B ------ |
[PC] --> [FVS318] ---crossover cable--- [FVS318] <--- [PC]
I'm successful to ping each external Router IP from any of the PC's but I'm not able to ping any other PC. I did create a Static Route table entry on both router but without any success.
The configurations is:
LAN A:
NetGear FVS318:
Basic Setings:
IP: 10.0.0.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
LAN Setting:
IP: 192.168.1.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
RIP Direction: Both
RIP Version: RIP-1
PC:
IP: 192.168.1.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1
LAN B:
NetGear FVS318:
Basic Setings:
IP: 10.0.0.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.0.0.2
LAN Setting:
IP: 192.168.2.1
Mask: 255.255.255.0
RIP Direction: Both
RIP Version: RIP-1
PC:
IP: 192.168.2.2
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1
I wonder if the Gateway IP for the Basic Settings has something to do.
I'll appreciate any help. Thank you
George
