I have three AST Century City minitowers that I have installed W2k Professional on, connecting to an NT4 server. Two of the three mysteriously disconnect from the network. If I unplug the USB device (adapter), get the warning, plug it back in, the network connectivity returns. The adapter is disabling for some reason. Ideas?

When it appears to have lost the connection, have you tried to ping other stations/connections?

Are any connections forcing full duplex?

It drops all connectivity, although it can ping the loopback address.

I found out late yesterday that Netgear has received a bunch of similar calls, and due to questions relating to the country of origin of the adapters, I suspect they have a bad lot. Also, one of the three AST's (all using the same adapter type) works just fine and hasn't had this problem.

We were instructed to return the adapters for an exchange.

Thanks for the response.
