Hello All,
We are trying to use "RMAN Template Generator Wizard" to generate a RMAN script but we are not able to list Oracle Objects into the Client's GUI. It complanis about connection error to Oracle.
We can see the Oracle "entity" just below "Registry" an "System State" in the client "Backup, Archive & Restore" interface, but when we try to expand it it asks for a User/Password.
No mater what we inform it gives the same error "Unable to connect to PRD. Error code = 12154".
Oracle documentations says it is a TNS error but we have checked it and it is OK. TNSPING works fine and also we are able to connect to the database using SQLPLUS from a command prompt (both with and without @INSTANCE).
RMAN backups and restores to tapes with Netbackup also works fine. The only issue is this wizard.
The Netbackup client service is running as a user who is member of ORA_DBA and we are also logged in with this user.
It seems to be a connection related problem, but we are getting out of ideas where to check... Is anyone using this ???
Environment:
Windows 2000 Advanced Server (server and Client)
Netbackup Datacenter 4.5 FP5
3 x LTO2
Oracle 8.1.6
Thanks in advance,
MrLula
