Hi all,

simple question: does NetBackup work cross-domain? I think it should, and believe it does, but 99% of our backup errors occur when backing up servers in a diffent domain (windows domain that is).

Thanks,
PD

As long as the windows server can talk to the backup server on the correct ports, it doesn't matter where it is.

These are the ports that need to be opened to and from, and if it's Netbackup 6.0+ you'll need PBX port 1556 opened.

TCP: 13701 13720-13724 13782-13783 512-1023 4000-5000

If DNS is not working in your enviroment, you'll need to use host entries on both the client and master/media servers..
