Netbackup 4.5 - Begin writing to Slow

Hi, Currently when i trade to Backup a File Server (640Gb) first the Netbackup read the totally file server calculating the estimative Size and this process is very large before begin writing.

How I can do netbackup initiates to write directly in the tape, without making the calculate estimated files, because this process is very large and the backup windows is increase sustancially.

The main thing - Are you using OTM/VSP? If it is not essentially needed, disable it.

Hi,
If you are using flash backup for raw device backup, you may touch one file know as BYPASS_IFR_MAP.<class name> at your client side under /usr/openv/netbackup directory. The file can help you to skip the calculation of backup.

HI There

I assume you are using Netbackup in a windows environment. If so, turn of the client job tracker on the client you are backing up. It shows up as a little computer on the taskbar. Or kill the tracker process through task manager.
