I am mapping a drive across a Netware Network and have a drive mapped thru the Novell Login Script. I get the error that I must log on before completing the task. Any suggestions on how I should change my script. I am using the following format. #net use Q: \\servername\c

Any help would be great.

mrtst: create an Application Object in NWADMIN, accept all of the defaults. When created, go into it. You can do the command one of three ways:

1. Go to the 'Distribution Scripts' tab and enter the #NET USE .... command in the 'Run Before Distribution' box

2. Go to the 'Distribution Scripts' tab and enter the #NET USE .... command in the 'Run After Distribution' box

3. In the 'Identification' tab, in 'Path to executable file' type C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\NET.EXE. Now in the 'Environment' tab under 'Command Line Parameters' type the rest of the command (IE. USE Q: \\SERVERNAME\SHARE)

Give it a go. I have used 1 & 2 myself, keep meaning to test 3 to see if it will work as it is the tidiest way I feel. -----------------------------------------------------

I tested out #3 and got some funky error, howerver #2 worked for the limited time I got to test it out. I will
let you know more on Monday when I am back at that school.

Thanks to everyone that help and gave input.

Just a tip for speed using NET USE commands with Novell login scripts. Instead of using the # before the Net Use command use @ (@ Net Use X: \\servername\share). This will let the Novell client finish logging you in as it maps your Net Use drives at the same time. When you use the # sign the novell login script will stop until the net use command is done mapping.
This helps with mappings across the WAN.
