Its the only domain controler , with about 5 workstations logon to it,
the error that i'm getting are : event ID 1030 and 1058 , which are related to GPO, there for, before i start the NetLogon, i can't access any GPO, (access denied error) , but once i start NetLogon, everything works just fine,
i did some reseach, but none of the things i tried seem to resolve the problem, !
Hmm...What if you try setting the service startup to "manual" and then reboot. You'll get some errors on boot, but leave the service stopped. Then set the startup type to automatic and reboot again.
when i set it up with manual, i got error Event ID 1054 , "windows can't obtain the domain controler, ...etc
when i setup it to auto again, i got no error,
also i've notices that i can't access any of the GP neither the global , nor the GPO for the each OU i had, not sure if that is related or not, (related to event ID 1030 & 1058)
when i put it back to auto, same thing, no error , exept the 1030 and 1058,
when i say can't access any GPO, if double click on the Group policy secruity in the control panel i get an acccess deny message, same thing if i go to the global GP, under the domain directory section.. very weired,
i was wondering, if there is any service need to be runing ? that could be casusing all this, ?
Have you changed any of the permissions on the root of C or the Windows directory?
Some services to check (other than netlogon) are the DHCP client service, Distributed File System service, File Replication service, Kerberos Key Distribution service, and the TCP/IP Netbios helper service.
i haven't changed any permissions on c nor windos directory,
but i've notice that the Distributer File System was set to auto, but not strated, (same symptom as the NetLogon)
After i started the Distrubter File System, i could access the GPOs , i have a feeling we are almost there,
so i guess the question is , why NetLogon, and DFS are not starting ?
