I hope someone would help me with design problem I am facing. I have already posted this question in other forums but with not result.
I am working on an application that consists of performing performance training check lists.
I have created the categories along with thier sub elements. I have a level of 4 subcategories created.
That is, the Main Questions(sections) could have one or more subcategories, which in return could have subcategories.
After liking the table I am able to view categories and subcategories going down 4 levels.
Now the problem is I want to have a main Tabbed Form(containing the main Category) then each tab on the Main Form will hold anothe set of Tabbed subforms on each. Very nested category. Now the questions that need to be check are located at the lowelest level of each category.
I tried creating a detail table, but the fields exceded 255. I am not sure anymore about the design of the tables.
I hope I was clear with my question.
Thank you
Bensta

Your table structure is not correct. Consider downloading and reviewing "At Your Survey" found at Each question/element creates a record rather than a field.

Thank you dhookom for the reply. I really appreciated. I did take a look at "At Your Survey" Database. I have a couple of questions to ask you. I created a Table that contains the Questions That need to be checked. Total 219 question. Just like "At yout Survey" Database, some questions can be indentical, but what distinguish them is the Category-Subcategories that belong to. How would I do this?
I have a Main Category Table, each one can have more than one
Main Category Table:
CategoryID Pk
CategoryName:

Sub Category1 Table

Sub Category2 Table

Sub Category3 Table

New Table: Questions Table
QuestionName text field
ID ----? ID number Unique ID for this Question to link to other tables

Thank you
Bensta

The questions in At Your Survey do have 3 levels. You could use these and even add more if needed.

dhookom. I just can't see the hiarchy between the tables in "At your Survery" Database. Could you please just help me define it so that I can relate it to my own database?
Thank you
Bensta

It isn't really hierarchical. It does have the "level" fields that can be used to define categories.
