We had the BFT replaced on our BCM 400 4.0 but some reason our VM shows negative mailboxes. If I delete one it only allows me to create information boxes and not subscribers. Did we lose keycodes or could it had been stolen by previous vendor ? From what they had said was only the BFT was replaced.....Any direction on this would be helpful always

Is there a keycode file loaded? When they swapped the BFT, did they possibly swap the MSC as well and restore a backup to the system? Keycodes aren't retained on the BFT, so swapping just the BFT should have no effect on licenses.

I was told the BFT. But programming on all the phones again was done. MSC not that sure ? I guess I should check for keycode files ? will it tell how many mailboxes we have ?

If they only replaced the BFT they should not have had to reprogram anything...the system doesn't care about the BFT as long as the MSC card and the H/D are the same as before. I would check the SID and see if that has changed, if not like biv343 said, see if you have the keycode file. If they had to reprogram they may have changed the H/D and that would be why the keycodes are gone. Your vendor will have to re-install the file, or replace the keycodes if they screwed up and didn't tell you.

Now, because I about about a MSC ! We are being told that the BFT along with its components (MSC)was moved over from another a BCM 400 4.0 system but not hard drive. Everything was working but we cannot do feature 981, Auto Att is working and leaving msg to mailboxes is working. We get exited out if using feature 981. Not sure if SID is the same as before but it seems the MSC was changed but not the hard drive. Will the keycodes be on the drive or MSC ? It seems we are missing the file ?

If the MSC was swapped out you are going to have to have somebody regenerate your key codes in the Avaya KRS system. You will need to have both the old & the new system ID's to regenerate. I would get the people back who were doing this & get them to do it properly. If this was a used MSC it could already have some key codes generated against it. Get somebody to go into KRS & check to see if there are key codes registered to your new system ID.

The key codes are licensed to the MSC. If they changed that, the key code file won't load as there is a mismatch between the keycode file and the actual hardware that is installed. You should ask the vendor to re-install the original MSC or get the keycodes transferred to the new MSC and reinstalled.
