Negative or positive number?

Hi Infa Gurus.

I have a input value coming through I just want to know if the number is positive or negative. Is there any informatica function which finds it out whether a given number is positive or neg? or do i have to use the same old logic of converting the value into char and check the last chat for '-'?

I am going mad. if the number is lees than 0 its a negative number. Sorry guys. I am thinking too much.
