I am looking for some very specific video functionality and wonder if anyone here has used something similar. Basically, I need the ability to power two displays at once. One of them is just a VGA monitor, the other is a TV monitor with s-video and composite inputs. Each display needs to show a different section of the desktop (so desktop spanning is required). Basically a different app will be running on each screen.
I can find plenty of cards that have composite and s-video outputs as well as VGA, but I haven't seen any indications of whether it is possible to use both outputs at once. I can use either PCI or AGP cards, so that isn't an issue. These cards will only be powering 2D applications, so performance isn't much of an issue. As long as it has 64 MB of RAM we should be fine.
If there isn't a card that can use both outputs simultaneously, has anyone ever used two separate cards under Windows XP to output to VGA and TV simultaneously before? How well does that work?
