This is a general RAID question -- couldn't find a general RAID forum. If there is one, please send me there.

System at work crashed and won't start. Was using some type of RAID with two disks. Computer shop says he can see partition but gets message that it's a foreign file system.
He says he needs to know what software was used to create the RAID. The tech who originally setup the system says he used Windows, but the current tech guy says no such thing -- would have to be third party software.

Is there a utility that will detect what the format is and/or what software was used to creat the RAID?

We need data on the drives that was not included in the daily backup.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.
