Hello,

I am using crystal version 9(Developer version)and have created a form in crystal. I am using a bitmap image and on top of that image I have connected to a database and have displayed information creatly on top of the image. The image is a form with test boxes that I have filled in with data from stored procedure. The report looks perfect in crystal 9 and have printed the file and everyone is happy. Now the problem exists when I place this on the web. I have put the report up on the web and when I try and run this report(size = 33074 kb)the data gets returned but the picture/image is not showing. So I have this report that shows the correct values on a blank background. Please if some could help me ASAP that would really be appreciated.
Just to recap. Have taken a bitmap file/image and inserted using insert picture and then placed fields on top of the bitmap which pulls from Database. Thanks again.

Sorry guys. I came up with a solution but not sure what the difference is. I inserted the image using OLE. Insert Ole into the report and it not only reduced the size of my report but the image appeared over the web. Maybe someone can explain the difference to me. That would be great. Thanks again, I love this site.

Hi It's me again.

O.k know I have another issue. I have put this report up on the web and the image looks fine when viewing. However, when I print the image, the quality sucks. I need a high resolution print quality. Why does crystal change the quality of the image when I print it. Any ideas what I have to do. Your help is appreciated. Thanks.

The issue is that Crystal always degrades the image before exporting it. It changes it to 256 colors and 96 dpi. If you do some searches in the CR knowledge base there is a solution which includes adding two entries to your registry... BitMapMagnifNumerator and BitMapMagnifDenominator. Set the value for the numerator to 4 and you probably won't notice any more problems. Consult the knowledge base to find out where you need to place these keys in the registry. This works with crystal 8.5 and the designer... I haven't tried it with a web app.

Hey Prestaul,

Thanks so much for the input. I have tried to do what you said and what the knowledge base article says and I wasn't really specific where to make the change. So we made the change on the web server. First we used the value of 2 and it didn't do anything and then we changed the value to 4. Still without any luck. So I created these registry keys on my p.c. and still no luck. Any other ideas why I still cannot get this to work. Thanks again.
