Chaps,
I do hope you can help. I'm looking for a way of having two cources of music on hold with our definity g3r. Essentially we want to launch a new product range and would like to have separate music on hold for the new product range. I know that we can do this by partitioning the switch and ultimately will look to implement this, however given time constraints I'm looking to see if there is any other way of doing this.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Phil Hall

Do you have a conversant? In that case you could play the music there...

You could setup a music source by connecting the source to an analog port then programming it as an annoucement. Hunt groups and vectors could then "wait hearing 1234" where 1234 is the announcement extension instead of the traditional "wait hearing music" steps. When calls are manually placed on hold by a phone user, the callers will hear the default MOH but you'll at least get the new messaging on hold working while calls are queued. -CL

You also have to administer the announcement as 'barge in' allowing more than one person on the announcment at a time. This option is on the change announcement form.

Hello Gentelman

This question is the same as what was brought up by my manager. The only difference is that we have a Pro Logic. We are upgrading to the latest and greatest software in the next few weeks and we would like to do this with are switch. Is it posssible ?

Thanks

can the analog port method support multiple concurrent connections?

Yes, if you have a compact call center package with vectors...

You can assign each vector to play the (MOH) device as if it were playing an analog announcement...

It works great...

a couple of years ago, I installed 20 MOH devices and made the system look like 20 different businesses...

It was done without partitions...

It was for a travel agency...each little airline they represented had their own promotion mixed with music on the same MOH recording on the MOH device assigned to each....

Give it a go "Old Chap" should also work for you...

It could get complicated, I would use a competent Business Partner to do the vectoring if you were doing it for several groups...

Just make sure you have the MOH device on the regular MOH port be just plain music with no voice overs...

Thanks,

I can't find the 'barge in' field on the change announcement form.

Where is it?

I have a G3r on V10

Thanks

To make it "barge-in", use "ch announ", and put a "b" in the "Q" field.
