Hi to all,

The LAN network will go down a few times a day. Whenever it went down, I need to restart the PIX 515 Firewall. After the restart the internet connection will be up again. Is there any way to identify the caused of it?? Thank you.
Urgent!!

Regards

Do you have a RADIUS server in the equation? Or a RRAS server? I have found that a lot of times if you make any changes to your authentication server you need to reboot the server and reload the PIX.

As far of a solution to the correlation between the two devices I'm stumped.

I have a question (I'm still teaching myself about the PIX), can something like this happen if floodguard is not enabled, and the limit on resources has been reached?

HI.

I don't know an exact answer to your question, I think that such a scenario that you describe about floodguard will not cause the pix to fail.

You are not the only one that had a pix that hangs - in most (I mean over 90% of the cases) it is a hardware defect and is solved by a replacement.

Again - your first thing to do is to read the relevant field notices and check the serial number of your pix for a match.
