I have aposter 4700mm by 600mm on Corel X3. I am trying to print it to a multi-page PDF file, in order to print the document on "tiled" A3 pages. My page size >Layout>Page Setup is set to the 4700x600 but publishing to PDF does not give men the option to specify a tiled layout as when I am printing directly to a printer.

This works if I print to Microsoft Immage Wrighter but the file size is un-usable large.

One noght when I sat here, I managed, by co-incidence, to do this but I have since then spent hours and days trying to do it again.

Please advice.

Dawid

You could also try other print-to-PDF drivers such as DeskPDF but will probably find similar problems, depending on default settings which may not be optimum.

When printing from CorelDraw, two ways to reduce the file size:

a) use the "Bitmap Downsampling" settings. In X4 this is under the MISC tab but may be elsewhere in older versions. These are off by default and you need to turn them on. Try the default settings (300dpi for colour and greyscale, 1200 dpi for mono). If that is not enough set them lower.

b) Go to the Postscript tag and tun on JPG compression trying a value of 80.

Try The PRIMO PDF driver to maybe it has that option

Or you could slice the Poster with Lens (magnify factor 1:1) with borders of 1 - 3 mm for overlap. Put each picture slice on a diferent page then export to PDF multipage.

If you print on InkJet type printers you can print borderless.

I am a Corel Fan!atic. (NAH)
