Need To Make A Linetype: _/___/___/___/__

Can anyone help me to make a linetype that looks like this:
_____________
/ / / /

It's for use as a rising main pipeline.

The best linetype I have managed to make is to use a slash (/) and offset it from the line, but it doesn't rotate.

Is it possible to draw a line off from the main line?

I've only modified line files once, but I think it's fairly easy to do since they are in a text file (acad.lin, etc.)

Each line type is defined by two lines in the lin file. You will have to check HELP to find out what the parameters mean, but the first line defines how the line looks.

I'd use a shape instead of text. It allows much more control.
