Can anyone with some experience in IA-32 explain to me in relative layman's terms what this line of code means?

745f2780 8b08 mov ecx,dword ptr[eax] ds:0023:00000000=????????

seems to me that the double word stored at the address stored in eax is copied into the ecx register.
