I don't know if this is the right forum to post to - if not, kindly point me to the right one...

I need to get 7 MB of data off a computer that has no USB ports, no CD burner, but has a dial up internet connection.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks,
E.

The fastest (and probably easiest, if you know how to install a hard drive in a pc) thing would probably be to take out the hard drive and put it in an other computer...
If you have a paralell laplink cable, or a serial nullmodem cable , you could transfer the data directly to an other computer with a direct connection. I know that XP got this functionality, but i think it is native on win98 too, and maybe even on win95.

yeah or gmailfs .. thats a great thing :)
i have a lot of gmail invites, so if you want, i can send you one, just write down an email address in a not computer readable format, like dotorg myemailaddress atmydomain ,or something stupid like that..
hope i dont get kicked off the forums because of this :)

Actually, I ended up zipping it and changing .zip -> .jpeg :) It worked great. Thanks!

I think Gmail is going to become everyone's backup. These days, 7 MB is nothing.

in Google we trust?
nah- my data is MINE, won't trust it for long to someone else...
