my company refuses to get rid of some old programs. this has created a problem now that we upgraded to office 2000. the visual foxpro driver does not support 2.x, so i can't export to it. the program that access makes the databases for has to have the databases in foxpro 2.5 or sooner. PLEASE HELP!!! i am stuck

Hello Schwankieog,

I know what your going through, I was in the exact situation when we upgraded to Access 2000. I did find a solution, but it's messy and it does'nt support memo fields, other than that though it works for us.

I used the registry entries for Access 97's Foxpro support and changed them to support Access 2000.

What I achieved is basically Foxpro 2.0 support, but not with memo fields.

If you are interested I could send you the registry entry to add onto your registry, but I take no responsibility if things go wrong - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

Email me if you want the file.

Again, this win't deal well with memo fields, but if there are none:
Have you tried simply exporting to CSV comma delimited and doing an APPEND FROM DELIMITED in Fox? David 'Dasher' Kempton

just so anyone who has any other suggestions know i am bringing the info from an sql database converting it to the proper table structure then exporting it in foxpro 2.5. the only choice the end user wants to have is where he wants the fox pro databases exported to :(

andrew,
i would like to see that code for the registry. please let me know how i can contact you or post it on this thread thanx.

Schwankieog,

I need to know your email address so I can send it, I don't want to paste it onto the forum because it alters the registry and any formating changes the forum might make could cause problems. All that's involved is opening a .reg file and pressing yes when it asks if you wan't to add it to the registry, after that you will find a Foxpro 2.0 file type in the export options.

If you don't wan't to post your email address then send me an email:

andrew.vanbeck@semefab.co.uk

If anyone else is interested in this file, email me as well.
