I have 2 PMS colors in my swatches palette that I'd like to delete. They won't delete. I can't find them in the document either. They're not in the Separations palette so I can't see them. Anywhere else I should look?

I have had this problem a few times.
It can we one of two things;

• You have a place eps (illustrator file) which contains the colours in the palette. Delete these colours and update the link in ID. The colours should go away.

• The ID file is corrupt. Copy the content of a page into a new document and see if the unwanted/un-used colour go away. This resolved the problem for us, and we ended up rebuilding the document as we didn't want to risk it coming back wrong. Chances are the printers RIP may also see the extra PMS colours. I traced the corrup file back to it coming into ID from quark!

Good luck!

I have a feeling it may be a corrupt file. I had that happen with another ID file -- every time I tried to delete an Illus file, my ID would quit. I hadn't thought of that being the reason for the extra PMS colors though. Thanks.
