Need to delete a deferred delivery message

An Outlook user sent many emails with deferred delivery. Those messages have errors and they need to be stopped. But the user permanently deleted her copies from her Sent Items folder, so we cannot expire them or otherwise remove them. So each week, these erroneous messages get delivered as scheduled. How do I find them in the Information Store or MTA and kill them before their scheduled delivery date arrives? Thanks!

Have you checked the Internet Mail Service queues? They might be sitting there.

If you go into the properties of the IMS (Connections\Internet Mail Service), click on the queues tab. If there are any messages with the old users' e-mail address as the originator, it's a good guess that those are the mails. All you need to do is hightlight them and click delete

You can also check the MTA queues by going into Servers\Your Server and going into the properties of the Message Transfer Agent

Hope this helps :)
If someone annoys you, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes )

I appreciate your suggestions. Those are good tips, but no luck. These messages are all internal to my organization, so they should not be in the Internet queues. I checked anyway just to be sure. They're not there.

Using Exchange Admin, I also checked the regular MTA queues - they show nothing. BUT when I use PerfMon and look at the "Deferred Delivery Msgs" counter for MSExchangeMTA, I see that there are four messages. I just need to figure out how to access them and remove the erroneous ones!

Thanks! Although the Q article was specifically geared toward viewing IMC messages, I was able to use the tool described (MDBVU32) to view the hidden "Deferred Actions" folder in the user's Private Information Store. Sure enough, there were a bunch of items in that folder. Thanks again!
