Hello all,

First time post, and recently gained phone maintenance as part of my duties at my company. We use an Avaya 4424LD+ as 110 Operator and Merlin Magix.

We are unable to see Caller ID though we pay provider for it, the provider informs us that our Recorded Greeting, "Thank you for calling Company X...etc." is activating too soon for the ID to work. (We're told we need 3-4 rings).

Anyone know where is SysProgram I can delay the greeting which I believe is called "Auto-Attendant?"

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately, with a Magix the answer could be many different places. It depends upon if you have DID's, a PRI, POTS lines, and how those calls route to the attendant.

Well, if it is DID's you'll never get CID, same for a T1. PRI will get you the number on the D channel, even with it answering immediately.

But, with Loop Start POTS lines, you set the Caller ID Delay for each line, and it will wait for the CID info to come in between the 1st and 2nd rings, or the 2nd ring if it does not receive it, before sending the call to the phones or auto attendant.

From your large display, programming phone:

Menu
SysProgram
Start
Lines and Trunks
More (The right arrow button)
LS-ID Delay
Entry Mode
Dial each trunk number (801, 802, etc) one at a time, and press Enter

Thanks so much for your help guys, your advice seems to have worked. I am now able to see the phone numbers calling in.

Much Appreciated.
