Hello,

I just installed Fedora Core 4 on a second harddrive in my system and installed the GRUB boot loader onto the first block of the drive instead of the MBR. I was never asked to create a boot disk and now I'm uable to boot into my new installation in order to extract the necessary information to create my own boot menu in Windows. My question is. Is there any way I can boot into my Linux installation at this point, or is there any way I can create a boot disk after the installation is complete?

Thanks all help is appreciated

Just use your original installation media (cd or dvd) & boot linux rescue. I remeber having some difficulty with grub on FC4 - it didn't want to be where you'd expect it.

Thanks for the tip smah. So I assume once I boot into my installation via Linux rescue then I'l dbe able to use the 'dd' command to extract the first few blocks of the partition to use in my Windows boot menu.

I would assume so, but I think it's easier to just re run grub.
