I have a pc running an old copy of insight manager (5.?)
I want to cim on another pc to look identical to this one. What I do is:
- Do the install
- rename the cim_db file as cim_db-old
- copy the cim_db file from the old pc over to the new one and and launch insight manager.

I'm getting the error:
file out of date

couldn't resove the issue. I ended up:
- uninstalling & reinstalling CIM on the new pc
- copying the cim_ip.dat file from the old pc
- and running with just the serverlist.

I use a lot of different databases in different domains.
Install a clean cim. Then copy de directory C:\Program Files\COMPAQ\INSIGHT MANAGER. This is your template directory. Make changes in the one you have after installation. When you want to use another clean database. Rename the current one. And rename the copied one to C:\Program Files\COMPAQ\INSIGHT MANAGER. Start cim an you have a clean database. I have tried to figure out what files are updated but it cost me to much time so i did it like the way above. I call it de clean and dirty way but it works fast to create a clean database.
