I had a couple of lines that people were abusing, so I was asked to block the ability to place outside calls.

in the past I have used NCOS for that, so I set NCOS to '0', but they were still able to place outside calls, first time that has happend.

I then read on this forum to set FRE under CLS.

well that worked, they cannot place outside calls.

but....now they cannot use our paging system either.
when you use our paging system you type either a 4 digit or 5 digit number.

does anybody see something here that would either keep NCOS 0 from working or that I can change to they can still call the paging system but not place outside calls?

I'd suggest you use TARG and TGAR to control access to your routes.

When you make any calls, what do you dial?

You must alow 911 to be dialed from this phone.

Most likley on your RLI's if you make MFRL 1 and NCOS 0 is a FRL 0, that should stop the calls. you would also need to make a new RLI for 911 and point 911 to that RLI. The RLI must have a MFRL of 0 so this phone could call 911.

you dial 9 to get an outside line, and for intercompany you just dial their 4 digit extension.

MFRL and FRL are new to me, so I will look those up.

thanks.

okay, dumb question coming...
I enabled FRE by simply doing an ECHANGE, CLS FRE

how the heck do I disable or remove FRE?

I tried CLS FRD but that didnt work.

I search for FRE and I get way too many free to narrow it down.
:(

i don't use otm so exchange is not part of the command, but i would suggest ctd or unr..

the set posting does not help much.. prt the dnb of the number you dial to access page (4 digit).. if that is a lsc then you can use ncos.. if not match the tgar of the station to the targ of the rdb.. what i do on paging when i want very few people having access is putting multi tgars on the route.. targ 0 1 2 3 4 5 7.. then unless i add tgar 6 to a set, no access.. that works only because the user is dialing the acod..

if i use a lsc then i make the frl 1, and make the frl of 911, 0.. then ncos 0 can dial 911 and no one else and to give then page access and not unlock the phone i just give then tgar 6..

but you have to set up or adjust your rlb. frl's nctl.. i seldom use fre or fr2.. almost all sets are ctd.. (except mine, unr)
