I need some help... it may be pretty basic but i am just starting to get into "technical" programs such as FlashMX or Flash6. Its very confusing to me since im not what u call an "expert" but i do know more then the average people i guess i could say...

I looked at the lessons but i still dont understand some of it and when i try some of it... it doesnt work...

EX -
I tried to make a simple movie such as moving a circle across the screen. I can do it with one method but there are 3 ways. Its very difficult for me to understand so if someone has the time to explain how to do some FlashMX, that would be great for me.

Also, i am still unsure how people are able to make those great Flash movies. Could it possibly be a program that allows them to make it so perfect and like a duplication of an animation? Maybe i just need to learn this at a class or something... but i live in Maine so there isnt much around for me. I have learned what i know by myself and some tips would help out alot.

Thanks for the help

Also.. is it needed when making a movie clip or a movie that i need to use dynamic HTML or XML???

Im not that advanced yet but i hope to get there someday

There are some great books and sites out there that should help you get started:

;)

There are a few ways you could move a circle across the screen. You could use a motion tween, or do some ActionScripting that would move it automatically or require some user input (key press, mouse movement, or even shouting at the microphone in FlashMX).

I find it is difficult to tell someone where to start. Just get something in mind that you want to do then experiment, look at tutorials, and never be afraid to ask for help.

Oh, and movie clips or Flash movies don't require dHTML or XML.

Alright thanks frozenpeas i know how to tween but i dont know where to get started either... if i should know HTML (which i do) but not the other ones like Dynamic and XML... this is the first program that i have actually used which is pretty tough unlike making simple websites.

I know how to do tweening motions...
Its just where do i get started on continuing on from there?

Thanks

First you need to decide what you want to do.
do you want to create an animation, collect data, or
make a menu. I found the lessons and help in flash
to be a little much for a newbie. I have learned
so much here then I did from anywheres else. I would
if I were you first try to do something one thing and
when you run into trouble post here for help
Everybody here is eager to help.
