I have a small business, and I need a SOHO system with some basic features:

* Cheap
* Auto-Attendant
* Pager notification of messages
* Auto Fax recognition routes to designated fax extension
* Good sound quality for outgoing messages
* Decent sound quality for incoming messages
* Needs to support 3 extensions (yes, we are small)
* Extension(s) ring before the Auto-Attendant picks up.

It seems that that VP206 from Voice Logic does all this, but I have heard some complaints about the fax recognition and battery problems.

Comments, PLEASE!

Norstar CICS Restricted 4X8 Rls6.0 W/CP100, with T7316 Telephone sets. You will be pleased at the feature bundle and how it can be fitted into a dynamic small setting that changes often. CICS & Call Pilot 100 comes with fax switch, AA, analog port, CLID routing, voice mail boxes, external call forwarding, Call timeers, logs and you can add station message detail reporting. To the CICS you can add a fromt door intercomm/opening device that notifys the telephone sets. Integrated to a cordless, the possibilities to take a break in the back yard without missing anything important are tremendous. Total package price will be about that of a loaded PC. It is your most valuable computer.
Who could want more?

Several out there to consider. Obvious first choice for us is the NEC Elite because we use this and sell this. But, other choices do exist in the Panasonic line, Vodavi line, Comdial line and TalkSwitch. TalkSwitch is more on the level of the VP206 and you could use your same phone instruments from the VP206.
Hope this helps. Jerry Pannell

there are plenty of great little systems out there. consider a partner acs with 3 lines, 8 extensions and vmpc voicemail card (comes in small 4 mbox and large versions 16 mbox)

you can also hook up any analog phone without special equipment or programming.

Look at the Vodavi Triad-S with Mini Voice voice mail. You can add an analog adapter for the fax purposes. Great system, more features than at least most other small systems, and priced right.
