New here, but hoping you guys can help. I need a way for someone to simply retrieve a message without all the Intuity prompt options within a VMPro mailbox. The system is being used to deliver after-hours messages to a group of on-call technicians. I've set the system to make an outcall to an escalation list of techs when a new message arrives. When the system delivers the message via an outcall, they don't want the techs to have access to changing greetings, mailbox settings, etc, from within the mailbox. Just retrieve the message and possibly delete the message. I've tried several options without success. All my options put you back in the mailbox among all the user prompts and options.

There has to be some simple method to do this that I'm missing.

Any ideas or advice?

Management wants it to stay in Intuity mode for all the internal daily users to have full utilization of their mailbox. I don't think there is a way to only use IP Office mode on a per user/mailbox basis. Being these are field technicians retrieving after-hours service calls, we've already experienced those few that want to get in there and change things around. We all know how us techie types are.

I was hoping someone had a work around using a short code and module building suggestion or simple setup and programming change within my grasp. I'm open to any suggestions.

Fairly sure something can be achieved with voice question and a post dial action, you may need to play around, I would but off now for Royal wedding and stuff :)

I did a similar function for hotel guest rooms. Using intuity, I set those mailboxes to another locale (I used EN) - then re-recorded the prompts to omit instructions on mailbox options. Then made a bypass to retrieve messages without mailbox/pw. Worked like a champ

Suspect this board will be quiet now until you blokes get back from the wedding.

is email an option, maybe just send a wav file to a group account.

Email is not an option. They are using that for a different aspect of notification. Voicemail box is necessary due to escalation requirements. I'm going to try Mforrence's suggestion. Will let you know if that works for us. I see one hurdle there, but think I've figured a way around that.

Did you try visual voice?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Make the original mailbox be a hunt group, and set the voicemail to broadcast. Broadcast to another mailbox that does the outcalling. The techs can mess with the greetings all they want, but they are not affecting the original mailbox at all.

Ok mforrence, I'm trying your idea and possibly going to incorporate some of TTT's suggestions as well. The problem I'm currently hitting is where to get a list of intuity prompts for the fallback EN locale/language. After playing around a bit, its obvious Avaya didn't use the same wav numbers with each prompt as with US English.

Know where I can get my hands on a list of the EN prompts? Couldn't find any info in the knowledge base.

Here is what I did (copied and pasted from internal doc):

Phone system changes for all hotel room stations. Changes are done within IP Office Manager application:
1. In Extension area, Analog tab: changed “Message Waiting Lamp Indication Type” to 101V to operate message waiting lamps.
2. In User area, assigned all hotel rooms to “Hotel Room” user right
3. In User Rights area, enabled voicemail for all hotel rooms. Set locale to UK in order to provide UK prompts for voicemail. This allows us to modify the UK prompts for hotel guests while leaving the US prompts intact for non-hotel users. Also set shortcodes 55 and 11 to vm node “ChkMsgs” – this allows guests to retrieve messages without a password prompt.

Voicemail Pro client changes:
1. Set a custom leave action for all hotel rooms. Leave action goto points to module “Hotel Leave”
2. Hotel Leave module uses a “listen” action in order to control what greeting is recorded. Entry prompts en\svm_07.wav (“There is no one available to take your call at the moment, so please leave your message after the tone”) and enu\mc_00.wav (beep).
3. Created new shortcode “ChkMsgs” that goes to Voicemail Collect action. This bypasses the need for passcode.

Voicemail prompt modifications:
1. Copied en\mc_01 to Names folder for each hotel room. This is one second of silence. System will consider this the mailbox owner’s name. Copy of prompts in HotelNamesBackup folder
2. Replaced en\83 (To administer personal greeting press three), en\224 (To respond or forward press one) and en\106 (To record messages press one) with en\31 (one second of silence). Copy of modified prompts kept in EnModifiedPrompts folder
3. It is important that the modified prompts be recopied after any Voicemail software upgrades.

Playing with the prompts will only obscure the options & not stop the tech if he knows what option is what (which will be standard intuity options)

the broadcast mailbox is probably the best option (or a p45 for a tech who changes the greeting/options without authority)
