I installed Red Hat v7.2 this week and am trying to get the telnet server and ftp server going.. Anybody have any quick start tips on how to do that?

I have already gotten apache to serve web pages to the other computer connected to my 4 port router...

thanks in advance!

ok I figured out how to get ftp and telnet working... the daemons were already running so I just telnetted/ftp'd into it (if it were disabled I'd have needed to set disable=no in /etc/xinetd.d/telnet then type "service xinetd restart" as root.

Well now I need to get Samba working. Any quick hints?

HI,

just install all the samba packages. samba, samba-client and samba-common. Edit smb.conf file and restart your samba. Make sure you create samba password by issuing smbpasswd -c username.
