Hello, I have the domain perlnetwork.com where I want to host perl scripts and programs along with trying to build a perl community that will share scripts and programs, all for free. Im looking for someone who is willing to contribute their time in help build the sites script archive and make sure all scripts work properly and are secure. The idea behind this is to help web developers who arent programmers to make thier websites more dynamic, by giving them scripts and programs that are easy to install and modify. I will be hosting the website on networksolutions and it will have the ADVANCED WEB HOSTING PACKAGE, if anyone is interested in helping do this project post on this thread. Thanks goodbye

It's your site and you should organize and run it however you see fit, but does a person really have to be a professional perl programmer? How about something more like this forum: people that are capable and willing but not necessarily professionals.

I am more than glad to have none professionals to work on our website but since its perl related they should know perl I assume because how else will I be able to know if the scripts and programs are secure and work properly. I want alot of people to be apart of this project because I have been into web design for sometime now and everytime I want to do something tangable with a website I run into the problem of needing it to be more dynamic. What I feel is needed is a place where people can trust the scripts and programs to be secure and most important free, which Larry Wall wanted, not a bunch of no name websites selling old useless scripts or obsolete scripts that arent up to date.

TrojanWarBlade are you interested?

I've heard of you KevinADC from webdeveloper_com and I heard you were very helpful, can you tell me what you would contribute?

I have no problem helping on an ad-hoc basis but I couldn't be tied down (ahem!) because I have varying commitments.
Feel free to post issues here though and I (and others) will happily address any perl issues you have.

Hey Trojan thanks for the reply, what does ad-hoc basis? Do you know anyone interested in this type of project?

ad-hoc means that I will help as and when I can but I can't commit to specific amounts of time.
Just bring your posts here, you'll see that there are plenty of people here who will help you.

hi complexs,

After having worked on a few sites with similar aspirations and ambitions that you seem to have, which I believe I understand and sympathise with, I have to decline any offer of participation or contribution. But I wish you all the best and I will be interested to see how the site develops.

Best regards,
Kevin
