Hello! I have a Voice Pro VP206 system (I know it's an orphan, but it works wonderfully for our small office!) All of a suden, it has stopped recognizing that we have 2 phone lines. (It was definitely installed correctly for 2 lines, as it has been working properly.) Now it thinks we only have 1 line, so if one of us is talking, anyone who calls us gets a busy signal. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you so much!

If you have Dial tone on your second line, and can use it for outgoing calls, suggest you call your 'telephone company' to check out the hunt group, hunting is supplied by them not the voice pro

Thanks for the prompt response, allisland! Turns out we DON'T have a dial tone on the second line. If someone is tlking on one extension, when someone else picks up their phone, they first get a stutter dial tone followed by a regular dial tone. But when they start to dial, they get a busy signal. Suggestions? THANKS!

without hearing it's hard to say, but normally stutter DT followed by normal DT is Voice mail messages waiting from Telco, don't know why you would have that with the Voice Pro? all I can suggest is to unplug second line from Voice Pro, then dial into it, if you get a normal ring it's trouble into Voice Pro, if a busy call the phone company.

it's possible that the 2nd phone line is down. best test is to butt into the 2 lines before they hit the system to prove that they are or are not the problem.

umm,it IS supposed to do that, right??

Hi, Delster! You were absolutely right! Turns out that one of our lines was out and the phone company actually accepted responsibility and fixed it! We're now back up and running. I was blaming our VP206, but it was working fine after all. Thanks to everyone for their much-needed advice!
