I just got premiere 6 and audio is all I can figure out... i imported two clips to mess around with learning transitions and effects but I cant fit a transition in between a clip and the effect only stays on for a split second??? As soon as I hit play in the viewing window it plays the normal clip minus the effect I added???? am I not doing something right???

ernrocks: In Prem6 you have a choice of A/B editing or a single primary video track.

In A/B editing, you should see seperate vid A&B track plus a "transition" track between them. Place clip #1 (in vidA) and clip #2 (in vidB) so that the start of #2 lines up with the end of #1. Place your transition in the "transition" track so that it "overlaps" the two clips.

If you are not using A/B editing, there is only one track for both the "A" and "B" clips. Place both on the Vid#1 track so that the start and end are touching. Drag a transition over the point where the two clips meet, and you should see that the transition overlaps both clips.

Hope this helps...Rob
