hey guys,
I'm looking for a motherboard with a very low powerdraw. I'm bulding in a computer in my vehicle and the powersupply (DC>DC) suppy 160Watt.

A 2.5 HD will draw about 5-10Watt, and i will have a touchscreen (10Watt) and a few other things on this powersupply, 1GB RAM, USB (5Watt each)... this will add up and a P4 draw 80watt and up, and this will push my powersupply to its limit...

so i'm looking for a motherboard/CPU combo (ATX) which draw as less power as possible.

Can anybody please give me some ideas, or links where i can order a good one?

where can i find a motherboard/cpu combo ,pentium M ?

is there anything else out there? i have heard the seperon 3000 cpu/motherboard draw 63 watt,..i could live with that ....

thanks a lot

MSI RX480 Neo2-F ATI Socket 939 ATX Motherboard and an AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.80GHz OEM Processor ( )

-Processor Speed SP 3000+ / 1.80GHz
-Processor Interface Socket 939
-Processor Class Sempron
-Cache Size, 128KB
-Bus Speed, 1000MHz

Mach Speed P4MSD-800 Via Socket 775 MicroATX Motherboard and an Intel Celeron D 351 3.20GHz OEM Processor ( )

-Processor Speed 351 / 3.20GHz
-Processor Interface Socket 775
-Processor Class Celeron D
-Cache Size 256KB
-Bus Speed 533MHz

Which of these two MOBO would perform better. I will use this board as a carcomputer, and it will most run Music/GPS/Notpad/Internet. so it will not run highend applications.

Higher Frontsizebus or higher cache is my problem now too..

thanks

For implementation in a car, I would go with a MINI-ITX or Nano-ITX solution. Small footprint, enough power to do all you need (what you had listed), and power consumption below 80w or so...
