Need help with Max 6000 Configuration 1

I have a Max 6000 with os 8.0.2. Max will verify user through RADIUS, RADIUS assigns IP address, computer recieves address, but computer cannot surf or ping the max; nor can I ping the computer. Cannot get aby help from Lucent.

What IP is being assigned to the user? Is it within the same logical subnet as the MAX? In other words, suppose the max had an IP address of 192.168.1.1/24 and you are assigning 192.168.1.2/24 through whatever. If this is the case, then you need to have proxy mode set to Active on the MAX (Ethernet > Mod Config > Ip options...). If on the other hand you were assigning an IP outside of the same logical subnet as the MAX (i.e. 192.168.2.x/24) then you would need to have proxy mode off.

Thank you very much for that information. About an hour or so after I posted this, I finally figured it out. It is amazing how that one little setting can mess up a whole operation.
