I have three Bay routers using software ranging from version 10-11. I am hacking at trying to configure them with Quick2config software, is this possible with those versions of software. I can access the router but need more information on how the configuration files are used by an.exe. I need information on the command line interface configuration, wich i would like to use. Does anyone know where I can find some information. thank you.

Hi Rk,
I feel you are in prity bad shap. These imagers are quiet old. I feel you will not have any luck from the Q2C. Bay routers are not like CISCO where you can build the config and play them on the router (new Images support this but not fully). The best thing to go about the Bay router config is get a Site Manager ver 2.x or 3.X (5-7 ver Down the image) and configure it.
If you are running the Corporate Suite yur may get BCC.
Try typing bcc at the prompt. to go into configuration mode type "config" ( remenber this is avialble in only sum recent build with Routers havinf LOt of flash and Memory.

Mbhandari,

Thank you for responding to my requests. I can create a configuration file with Quick2config, and send it to the router and all is fine. When I do a "dir" command, I can see the file, it has an extension of ".cfg". There is a file named "config", with no extension, that I believe the router is using for its config info upon bootup. I cannot send the Q2config file to the router, with no extension, and I can't rename the file with the command promt. I feel I am close, but I can't find any detailed information on Bay routers, to help me with the command line interface. Any suggestions on where I can get the versions of Site Manager you are talking about? My companty doesn't have a support contract with Nortel, and I am not sure they even have those versions.

Thanks, RK

Also I need it fast, of course.

Hi rk,
Thats right Bay uses by default the config file for the configuration if you want to boot this with your custom file. use command
boot 1:yourfilename
if you find the config is OK then rename it to config file by "copy config config.old" and "copy newfile config"

Bhandari,

Many thanks for your input, I will try to rename the file. You have been very helpful, and I think you gave me the missing piece. If the version of router software I have will read the Quick2config file I have created, Im there. If not, I may pick your brain some more. Again, many thanks for helping close up some of the holes.
