To filter out the online retailers that sell our email address to spammers we create an email address within our exchange server for every company we do business with. To do this we create a global distribution group and an exchange mailbox using the company name. We then add the users who need to receive email from this GDG to the members list. If we begin receiving spam on the address "retailer1@mydomain.com" then we delete the GDG and stop doing business with retailer1.
The problem is that we have over 100 GDG representing the companies we do business with. Every time we add or change a user that needs to receive email from all of the retailers, we have to add the user to the members list of 100 GDGs.
I thought it would be easier to create a group called say "buyers", then add the users who were merchandise buyers to the "buyers" group and make the "buyers" group members of the global distribution groups associated with the retailers. Then all we had to do was change the buyers group members.
This does not work. No one gets email if it is set up this way. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance,
Tim
